My internet chose to die a few days before the 2011 ended and our family all met up for a vacation so I was unable to spend New Year’s in the super fabu hikkikomori way that I dreamed of doing. But I suppose it can’t be too late, so happy new year.

Two scientists walk into a bar
The first scientist says ‘I’ll have a glass of H2O”
The second scientist says ‘I’ll have a glass of water too. Wh… why did you say H2O? Like, I know it’s the chemical formula for water and all, but it’s the end of the day and there’s really no need to intentionally over-complicate things like that in a situation outside of work”
The first scientist stares at his drink, angry that his assassination plan has failed.
Oh, memories. I used the original joke last school year to get bonus points for a chemistry long test. ( ﾟヮﾟ)
I started reading these books when I was a lot younger, when I was the only Beatrice I knew, and I guess yeah, when the world was still quiet. So I always felt that the dedications on each book were addressed personally to me—like before this life there had been another one with this tragic romance and where I died in a fire.
I suppose what we can get from all this is that even as a kid I had an ego the size of the sun.
